Woven cotton case is in good condition, minus minor holes and losses, striped with beautiful colors of green, red, yellow, and blue.  Used as a carrying case for the included atlatl. The highly polished bone shaft has a length of 19 1/2 inches with a beautiful patina.  One end contains a mineral resin or sap and original binding which would have held a piece, most likely of metal, for the attachment point of the spear when being thrown, which is now missing.  The opposite end has the wooden thumb piece attached by a cord, which I do not believe is correct to the time.  The wood piece may also be modern, however cannot say for certain.  Still a magnificent display piece.  Very rare.  Provenance; acquired from Bonhams and Butterfields Auction House.
