This Moche Idol, in the form of a nude female, is approximately 10 1/2 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches wide.  This pottery piece is from Northern Coastal Peru circa 100 to 750 of the Common era.  The exposed ribcage and hands on stomach appear to depict hunger.  Beautiful burnished finish.  The empty eyed stare is topped with a head wrap that extends the shoulder length hair.  The nose has a slight imperfection that appears original to the piece.  There are no signs of repair.  The piece appears to be intact.  A nice sized burial piece for this style.
